Occupational health program in a metal mechanical company / Programa de salud laboral en una empresa metalmecánica
Abstract
The objective was to determine the occupational risks and demands and health problems present in a metalworking company and start a health program, in Gómez Palacio, Dgo., Mexico. This study has two steps: First a Diagnosis, with the PROVERIFICA model of Dr. Gabriel Franco to identify the risks and labor demands existing in the company. The lowest efficiency levels were in “Induction and Training”; “Workers' Health” and “Civil Protection” chapters. The first two due to the lack of a health preventive program and the third chapter due to various administrative deficiencies within its Civil Protection program. At the “Intervention proposal” step, the main work was based on the opportunity areas detected by the company Diagnosis, which result in designing an “Integral Health for Workers Program”, with different workshops that managed to start improving workers health, safety and hygiene. The goal is to increase the benefits when this program is fully implemented.
