Karoshi syndrome: legal-medical approach. A case study / Síndrome de Karoshi: abordaje médico-legal. Reporte de un caso
Abstract
El síndrome de Karoshi es esencialmente la muerte súbita debida a enfermedad cerebrovascular o isquemia cardiaca asociada con sobrecarga laboral, sin embargo, también se consideran: el suicidio por desorden mental por estrés laboral y la enfermedad cerebrovascular o isquemia cardiaca asociadas a sobrecarga de trabajo sin resultado fatal (1,2).
Karoshi fue definido en 1989 en Japón, se encuentra relacionado con el estrés y la sobrecarga laboral, considerada esta última como más de 51 horas por semana o más de 45 horas extralaborales por mes, teniendo como consecuencia un aumento en el riesgo cardiovascular (3).
