Danger of becoming ill from occupational hazards present in the occupation of manicurist. Part 1. / Peligro de Enfermar por Riesgos Laborales Presentes en la Ocupación de Manicurista y/o Pedicuristas. Parte 1.

Resumen

Every day we see models, actors, singers, students, secretaries, stay-at-home spouses, and even little girls with gorgeous nails of varied sizes, colors, designs, and even adorned with crystals, which make their hands look beautiful. We are often amazed by the beauty of these designs, which are used in everyday life and even change with the seasons, such as Christmas, Halloween, and national holidays. And we wonder: Which salon do they go to? Who does these designs? But have you ever wondered what is behind those beautiful nails? Have you ever considered the dangers that workers face in this kind of work?

The beauty industry is one where many of us are unaware of the dangers that nail technicians face daily, as these risks jeopardize their safety and can lead to serious health problems in the medium to long term. It is essential to be aware of them, as the industry is growing rapidly and progressively. Knowledge of the occupational risks to which workers are exposed in their workplaces will enable us to implement preventive measures to protect this group of workers, who are predominantly women.
