Risk level for the development of diabetes and anthropometric measurements in workers / Nivel de riesgo para el desarrollo de diabetes y medidas antropométricas en trabajadores

Resumen

Objective: To evaluate the relationship between the risk of developing diabetes and anthropometric measurements in workers at UMF 75.  Methods: Observational, cross-sectional, prospective study at UMF 75, with 160 workers, using quota sampling; anthropometric measurements were used; The data was captured in Excel software and the statistical analysis was performed with SPSS version 25, for tables and figures; and the χ2 test was used to determine association with a significance value of p<0.05. Results: Of the total participants, 65.3% are women and 34.4% men, with a mean age <45 years, the level of risk of developing diabetes was moderate-high with 56.8%, 35% were overweight and 42.5% obese, 86.2 % had altered CC, 76.2% altered ICC and 98.1% altered ICA. Conclusion: There is an association between the risk of developing diabetes and anthropometric measurements with a tendency to obesity. It is important to promote strategies for the prevention and timely detection of diabetes from the first level of care.
